Was ist in der Permakultur die Lösung für eine ausreichende Getreideproduktion, die den Bedarf einer Bevölkerung an einem Ort decken kann? Die Welt ist auf Getreide angewiesen, ignoriert die Permakultur das einfach?
Die zentralen Thesen
Getreide passt problemlos an Orte wie Wüsten und kalte Klimazonen, in denen Ruhe und Zeit vorhanden sind, um alles zu verarbeiten. Außerhalb dieser Klimazonen ist Getreide ineffizient. Es gibt viele einfachere Lebensmittel, die in Bezug auf die Ernährung für die erforderliche Arbeit angebaut werden können. Getreide ist ein hochwertiges, lagerfähiges Lebensmittel, das für militärische Zwecke gut war und landwirtschaftlich zum Aufstieg des Getreides beigetragen hat. In der Regel lohnt sich der Arbeitsaufwand für die gewonnenen Lebensmittel jedoch nicht. Aber die Massenlandwirtschaft ist im Getreidespiel gediehen, weil ihre Produktion leicht industrialisiert werden kann: maschinell geerntet, verarbeitet, gelagert und versandt.

In permaculture what is the solution for the sufficient production of cereals that can meet the demand of a population in a place? The world relies on grains, is Permaculture simply ignoring this?

Grains easily fit in places like the deserts and cold climates where there is dormancy and time to process everything. Outside of these climates, grain is inefficient. There are a lot of easier foods to grow in terms of nutrition for the labor required. Grains are a high-quality food that stores, which was good for military needs and aided in the rise of grains agriculturally speaking. However, usually, the amount of work necessary for the food gained just isn’t worth it. But, mass agriculture has thrived in the grain game because its production is easily industrialized: machine harvested, processed, stored, and shipped.
